Award organizations
- Pettinos Award (& lecture): For distinguished contributions that have significantly influenced the advancement of research in carbon science and/or technology and have contributed to the collaboration of carbon researchers worldwide.
- Fellows of the Society: To recognize members of the American Carbon Society for (i) a sustained contribution in the field of science or technology of carbon materials, (ii) a recent significant accomplishment in the field of science or technology of carbon materials, or (iii) services to the American Carbon Society.
- Student awards also sponsored by the C-Journal of Carbon Research (All student abstracts will be considered):
- Best Oral: Mrozowski Award ( 500 USD cash prize, formal certificates of recognition, and a full manuscript processing charge waiver (equals to around 2000 USD) for the winner’s subsequent submission to C — Journal of Carbon Research. Two runner-up cash prizes of 100 USD will also be awarded )
- Best Poster: Walker Award ( 500 USD cash prize, formal certificates of recognition, and a full manuscript processing charge waiver (equals to around 2000 USD) for the winner’s subsequent submission to C — Journal of Carbon Research. Two runner-up cash prizes of 100 USD will also be awarded )

- Submission Deadline for all American Carbon Society Awards is February 28, 2026.
- Brian Kelly Award (est. 1996): commemorates Brian Kelly, a leading authority on graphite physics. The award supports students and early-career researchers (≤ 10 years post-doc) to attend the World Conference on Carbon – Carbon 2026
- Carbon Journal Prize 2026: The journal Carbon and its publisher Elsevier will be awarding the Carbon Journal Prize, given for “an outstanding Ph.D. thesis in carbon material science and technology”.
